Guide to using SMSC Online

promoting Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural values in schools

We hope that you find this website easy to use!

Our am in SMSC Online is to help you find resources for social, moral, spiritual and cultural development across the whole curriculum.

At the heart of this is our online Directory of providers and resources. You can search here under various categories to find resources to support your work. One tip: unless you know very specifically what you are looking for, it's often best to start with a wider search - not trying to specify too many categories at once. You can always narrow  down later.

The online Directory is supported by other pages of information and links to other resources - the news, library and articles pages.  This will grow and develop over time - and we always welcome new suggestions.

There are also two discussion forums:

  • A general discussion area, where we hope you will post questions, comments, suggestions for resources etc, and share your experience of working in this field

  • "Ask Morag" - a discussion area focusing on moral issues. Morag, your Moral Agony Aunt, will attempt to field the issues

Providers of resources use the Providers link (of course!) to add details of their organisation and their resources. This part of the website is password-protected after the opening page.

If you want to find out more about us - there's always the About Us page, or you can find various ways to contact us on- and off-line on the Contact Us page. Or if it's a question where everyone could benefit by knowing the answer, please use the general discussion area of the Forum.

We hope you enjoy using SMSC Online, and find it to be a valuable service.
