Making it matter
Every morning a woman walked along the beach, picking up starfish that had
washed ashore with the tide and throwing them back into the sea.
Someone approached her one day and asked what she was doing.
She explained that the starfish would otherwise die in the heat of the sun.
'But there must be hundreds of starfish washed upon this
stretch of beach alone every day' said the man. 'What you are doing, does it
make a difference? In fact, does it really matter?'
The woman picked up a starfish and fling it far into the
waves. She turned to the man and said 'It made a difference to that one. But the
point is, it matters to me.'
To everyone involved in making a difference to the
planet, to animals, to 'mankind' and to 'making it matter'. THANK YOU.
